Historical Poster Design and cropping project.

Choose from one of the following design movements:

Part 1. Sign up for and research your design style. Create a poster in the style, keeping in mind color choices, illustration style, and philosophical leanings. Draw the composition on a sheet of tracing paper. Use color pencil and markers to plan the color composition. Use crop mark to make your composition be 6" x 8".

Click here to begin your research. Also use the good ol' library.

Part 2. Select 1/4 of you original composition using crop marks and enlarge it to be 6" x 8". Make a 2" grid on another sheet of tracing paper. Using the grid as a guide, free hand your second crop. Use color to plan the color in the second composition.

Using your tracings, transfer your 2 compositions to Bristol or drawing paper. Complete the color work-up so the two compositions relate.

When you finish you will have:

1 short description of your design

Mounting and margins: mandatory but your choice of size.
Canson is a good choice for backing paper
